GPA: GovPrint advancing sustainability and social value

The Government Property Agency has published its own case study on GovPrint, the cross-government print service that runs on the Cirros platform.

What the GPA reports

  • GovPrint is available in 355 government buildings, with 244 locations added in 2024 to 2025.
  • 5,033 trees replanted to date, and 408 trees saved since 2023 because uncollected print jobs are deleted automatically.
  • Around seven printers a month are returned and reused elsewhere across government.
  • End-of-life devices are recycled in prison workshops with the Ministry of Justice, leading to at least four people finding work after release.
  • Zero waste to landfill from the devices processed.

Partners in a circular approach

GovPrint works with Xerox and DSA Connect on a circular approach to devices, and with PrintReleaf to track paper use.

“GovPrint is currently reusing around seven devices each month…”
